Wichita man sentenced to 27 years for child sex crimes

IOLA – (February 3, 2017) – A Wichita man was sentenced today to more than 27 years for sex crimes against a child, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Alan Lee Greer, 33, was sentenced in Allen County District Court by Chief Judge Daniel D. Creitz to 330 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections. Greer pleaded no contest in 2015 to one count of aggravated criminal sodomy and one count of aggravated indecent liberties. The convictions stemmed from crimes occurring between 2007 and 2009 in Iola. Evidence presented in court showed two victims were involved, both under 14 years of age.

The case was investigated by the Chanute Police Department, the Iola Police Department, the Sedgwick County Exploited and Missing Child Unit, the Heart of America Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Attorney General’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Adam Zentner of Schmidt’s office is prosecuting the case.
