Pratt man sentenced to more than 14 years in prison on meth charge

PRATT – (February 29,2016) – A Pratt man was sentenced last week to more than 14 years in prison for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine with a quantity of 100 grams or more, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Jason Robert Hembree, 37, was sentenced to 176 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections by Judge Francis E. Meisenheimer in Pratt County District Court. Hembree pleaded no contest to the crime last month. The crime occurred in January 2015.

The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Pratt Police Department. Deputy Attorney General Vic Braden and Assistant Attorney General Steve Wilhoft of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
