The Office of the Kansas Attorney General (OAG) is seeking applications to fill the position of Grants Monitor in our Victim Services Division. Under the direction of the Victim Services Director, this position performs financial accounting duties for the state’s victim service grant programs administered by the agency. The position involves the accounting of all financial documents to ensure compliance with applicable state laws and regulations for state grant programs. The individual selected to fill this position will assist the division in its efforts to award grant funds to victim service organizations across Kansas.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Prepare grant applications, reporting forms and conduct review of grant applications 
  • Assist the director with the day-to-day responsibilities of monitoring funded agency budgets and processing payment requests and reimbursements to funded agencies 
  • Track, report and make recommendations regarding funded agencies’ fiscal performance – including contract budget provisions, budget modifications and/or amendments 
  • Review budget requests for financial accuracy and allowable budgeted items according to each grant fund 
  • Prepare and maintain financial and budget records for each grant award 
  • Provide technical assistance regarding financial questions concerning grant programs 
  • Review audit information submitted by funded agencies. Review all financial reports submitted by funded agencies for accuracy and allowable costs 
  • Prepare vouchers and payments for funded agencies 
  • Provide monitoring of funded agencies through desk and/or on-site financial reviews 
  • Track all equipment purchased with grant funds 
  • Prepare financial reports and keeps historical data regarding the financial information of the grant programs 
  • Assist in performing staff duties related to the grant review boards 
  • Prepare status reports and other communications to grantees 
  • Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the accounting internal controls, policies and procedures of the Victims’ Services Division grants program 
  • Assist with training efforts regarding the grant programs 
  • Write and prepare grants for submission to outside funding sources
