Bourbon County man convicted of murder

FORT SCOTT – (May 26, 2016) – A Bourbon County man was convicted today of first degree felony murder and child abuse in the death of a six month old infant, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Anthony Michael Anderson, 22, of Fulton, was found guilty by a Bourbon County jury. Judge Mark Ward presided over the trial. Sentencing has been set for September 2 at 9 a.m. in Bourbon County District Court.

The crime was committed in April 2015. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Fort Scott Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Adam Zentner of Schmidt’s office is prosecuting the case.
