Atwood man sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for sex crime against a child

ATWOOD – (January 6, 2015) – An Atwood man convicted of a sex crime against a child was sentenced today to more than 17 years in prison, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

 Robbie Joe Houk, 65, was sentenced in Rawlins County District Court by Judge Glenn D. Schiffner to 214 months in prison for aggravated indecent liberties with a child to be served in the Kansas Department of Corrections.  The conviction stemmed from a crime that occurred in September 2012.   

 The case was investigated by the Atwood Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Nicole Romine of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
