Harper County man sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for rape and drug charges

HARPER – (October 31, 2014) – A Harper County man was sentenced today to 258 months in prison for rape and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said. 

 Reese Adam Young, 29, Anthony, was sentenced by Judge Larry T. Solomon in Harper County District Court.  Young was convicted of rape by a jury in July and pled guilty to two counts of distribution of methamphetamine in August.

 The crimes were committed in 2013.  The charges stemmed from investigations by the Harper Police Department, Anthony Police Department, and Harper County Sheriff’s Office.  Assistant Attorneys General Lee Davidson and Lyndzie Carter of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
