Human Trafficking: Identification and Effective Response for Law Enforcement Officers
This course provides the professional with an understanding of human trafficking, the toll on Kansas communities, and what professionals can do about it. The focus will be on both identification and effective, multi-disciplinary response. Participants will learn: Identifying factors for both sex and labor trafficking Changes in Kansas statutes regarding human trafficking Practical considerations for law enforcement intervention Best practice recommendations for effective law enforcement interviewing and response. This takes into consideration the different roles that need to be present in an effective multi-disciplinary response Services needed and resources for victims. Case examples will be used to illustrate best practice.
