Ulysses woman charged with murder, child abuse

ULYSSES – (August 28, 2015) – A Ulysses woman yesterday was formally charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a child, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Monica Garcia, 28, was charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a child in connection with the death of an infant.  A copy of the complaint is available at http://1.usa.gov/1Kq961k .

Bond has been set at $250,000 cash or surety.  At this time, Ms. Garcia has been scheduled to appear in Grant County District Court on Tuesday, September 1, at 11 a.m.

Garcia is currently in the custody of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
