COLDWATER – (January 13, 2012) – A Coldwater man will spend more than three years in prison after being convicted of aggravated battery, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced.
Judge Leigh Hood today sentenced Alexander J. Basoco, 22, to 41 months in Kansas Department of Corrections. The charges stemmed from an incident on July 18, 2010, when Basoco shot Andrew J. Trummel in the stomach. Trummel survived the shooting. A jury found Basoco guilty on the aggravated battery charge in August.
The case was investigated by the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Andrew Bauch of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
