Attorney General Schmidt to visit northwest Kansas

TOPEKA – (August 22, 2011) – Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt will visit several northwest Kansas communities later this week.

“An important part of public service is spending time throughout our state to stay focused on what is important to Kansans,” Schmidt said. “I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with several northwest Kansas communities later this week.”

Schmidt will visit six counties on Friday and Saturday of this week. On Friday, he will play host to a training session and discussion with regional criminal prosecutors and later will visit the Stockton Correctional Facility.

On Saturday, Attorney General Schmidt will join with State Sen. Ralph Ostmeyer (R-Grinnell) to conduct a series of listening stops. The Saturday meetings with Sen. Ostmeyer are open to the public, and all local residents are encouraged to come by to visit.

12:45 p.m.

Jennings – Fireman’s Fun Day
Attorney General Schmidt and Sen. Ostmeyer will participate in the Fireman’s Fun Day festivities and parade.

 

3 p.m.

Norton – Listening Stop
Town & Country Kitchen, 419 E. Holme St.
Public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
